Pouring with a clear amber brown color with a tan foam that is creamy in appearance.

A mouthfeel that is balanced with elements of coffee, dark country bread that come through adding to the balance.

AROMA

A blend of sweet malt supported by notes of dark fruits and toffee that add depth and dimension to the aromatics.

ABOUT THIS BREWERY

The Neuzelle Monastery is celebrating its 750th anniversary, established in 1268 by Heinrich III, Margrave of Meissen. Neuzelle, boasting two churches, two museums and a monastery garden is considered a “Baroque Wonder of Brandenburg”. The Neuzeller Klosterbrauerei, began brewing beers in 1416, and has maintained its traditional beer making practices. Once part of the Monastery, it is now run independantly, and is known for innovative ideas, originality and age-old recipes.

BEER TYPE INFORMATION

“Lager”, a term derived from the German word, meaning “storage”. This refers to the fact that the beers were stored before drinking. Lagers can be pale, amber or dark.
